Going Home Thoughts

We are on the final flight home. We just literally ran from one plane to the next in 10 minutes. I am in a state of exhaustion and total awakeness both at the same time. I am overwhelmed at the thought of attempting to verbalize the experience of the last 10 days…there are just so many feelings, contemplations, questions, and observations…so I am sure it will all slowly dribble out. I hope to find open minds and ears to share with. If not, I plan on calling my students and being with them in the memory of our shared experience.

Haiti Earthquake 2010 - Disaster Relief - Water Purification - Fountains of Hope

We have had an awesome couple of days installing a purifier system at an orphanage in Port-au-Prince. Part of our team conducted Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) counseling training others to recognize and help treat those with PTSD. Another part of our group is working with the children affected by the earthquake. Today we took a bumpy ride to Gonaives and will be installing two more purifiers tomorrow. Read more »
